Tucked away in the most secluded corner of our reserve, Zebra Cottage isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a place to be. This is your modern-meets-rustic hideaway, designed for those who know that the best luxury is found in the stillness of the wild.
The Space: Inside, the charm of the Karoo comes to life. Sink into the lounge as the fireplace crackles—a sanctuary built for crisp winter evenings and slow, romantic dinners. Your kitchen is fully equipped for your self-catering adventures, featuring a gas oven and all the essentials you need to whip up a feast as the sun dips below the ridge.
The Great Indoors & The Great Outdoors: Retire to a bedroom draped in crisp percale linen, designed for the deepest sleep you’ve had in years. After a day of exploring, soak away the world in a warm bath, complete with eco-conscious amenities that honor the land around us.
Step out onto your spacious, undercover veranda—the heart of Zebra Cottage. Whether you’re braaiing under the vast African sky with the gear we’ve provided, or simply watching the wildlife drift across the plains, this is where time stops.
A Note on Our “Off-Grid” Soul: We believe in true disconnection. Zebra Cottage is powered by the sun and the silence. Warm water is fueled by gas, and we encourage you to unplug, breathe, and reset. Need to connect? Our main lodge area is a short hop away, offering full power, charging stations, and Wi-Fi. Out here in the cottage, the only “reception” you’ll get is the gentle hum of the Karoo and a million stars that will absolutely take your breath away.

Arriving quite late in the evening, the host was extremely friendly and happy to receive us. On request he was willing to arrange for us a late supper. It was a burger and chips, that will compete with many master chefs. Went on a lovely game drive in the morning.Posted on Google Danika AfricaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Stunning location with really friendly staff and owners. Definitely worth making a trip to AGLPosted on Google Joan AnTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Wonderful, child-friendly lodge with simple yet very clean and tastefully designed chalets that feature both an outdoor braai and a fireplace to heat the chalet (4 bags of fire wood as well as fire starters were provided upon arrival). The staff and owners were very welcoming and helpful, making us feel as part of the family - special thanks to Elijah who pointed out game, was always at hand to assist as well as cooking us delicious dinner. Jan, the owner, treated us to a beautiful game drive including a picnic with a view over the waterhole. We got caught in the rain and it made the experience even better. Worth staying two nights or more to really unwind, enjoy the nature and see some game. A baby cot is available upon request.Posted on Google Alexander FreudenbergTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. For a 3 star self catering you should not expect much. Good for a 1 night visit. Take a cell phone battery bank and a ups battery for lights and your own fan. No cellphone signal so prepare to be offline but they do have adequate unsecured wifi
